Beyond Sport Shortlist

love.fútbol is one of the four finalists in the Sport for Sustainable Cities & Communities category of the Beyond Sport Awards 2017. The awards showcase organizations that are successfully using sport to promote and achieve the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDG’s)
 
Unilever's "Connected by the City" project, in partnership with love.fútbol, which saw the renovation of two recreational spaces in the Santa Marta and Cantagalo communities of Rio de Janeiro, is also among the finalists in the category of Best Corporate Campaign or Initiative in Sport for Good. In this project, the mobilization of the community around the construction of the courts was the starting point for socio-educational initiatives in the areas of Health, Entrepreneurship, Welfare, Childhood, and Youth.

The winners of the Beyond Sport Awards will be announced at a ceremony this upcoming July in New York City (USA). In total, there are 37 finalists across 11 categories. Since 2009, the awards have received 2,150 entries from 145 countries.
